Finnacial strategy can be the simple thing: live under your mean, save consistent, set aside 10-15% to your 401k, contribute regular to IRA and hopefully one day you can build up the critical mass that enable you have the freedom to work as an option not as an obligation

It's basically a plan to get you on track to a financial goal.
These usually involve a plan to pay off ALL your debts, including your motrgage. They tell you how much life insurance you need, if any. They also tell you how to invest your money (though not necessarily what to invest in), usually for retirement.
