good question,
I pay limewire like twenty dollars a year, so I'm thinking It's legal provided I don't use the stuff commercially, but I'm not even entirely sure on that one.

Limewire itself is not illegal. Since your son is downloading copyrighted material for free, that is illegal. You CAN get into trouble, but chances are that nothing will come of it...but you never know. There have been quite a few people that have been sued for downloading things like that.

If you download a coyrighted song for your own personal use, it's still illegal.
Even if you buy Limewire Pro (Limewire in itself isn't illegal)
There is a very small chance that you will be chaught for anything seeing as millions of people download millions of songs every day.
Just keep in mind that if you take your computer to a repair shop or something, the repair people are by law supposed to report it to their boss.
I wouldn't worry about it

If you bought it, it's illegal. If you downloaded it, it's illegal. He is still Downloading songs without the owners right. but then again, he is a minor and you could get caught for it since *you* are supposed to be the responsible adult.

yes, downloading copyrighted content without paying someone who has rights to sell it is illegal. I think it's possible you could be held liable since you're paying for his connection to the 'net and it would be traced back to your home.
