Dear windandwater:

I am writing in response to your query posted on YahooAnswers. My answer, simply put is, "it depends." When I am in the company of my male friends my actions may seem a tad uncouth, but when in a public setting my manners match accordingly. This is not to imply that I am always on my best behavior in public, but should insinuate rather that I am quite conscious of my surroundings and tailor my actions particularly to each social setting. I hope I have provided sufficient explanation and answered your question as intended.

Good Day

I think it depends on a few things. Like where I am, who I'm with, if I have a few drinks in me..lol. I think I usually do. Verbal manners I do. Please, thank you.etc. but as far as proper manners all the time. No,. I don't like stuffy people so sometimes it's funny to do things that aren't socially correct.

almost always, but i try to relax while doing it. After using manners for a long time, they became a part of you and you use them naturally, you don't have to think about it.
It's the same for the person who doesn't use manners. For instance, someone that burps at home and doesn't pay attention to it, may burp during a fancy dinner with family or friends or a date because he or she is used to it and it comes natural for him/her to do that.

I try to, but often I fail miserably. It's difficult to maintain manners in a society of instant gratification & sometimes very rude people that we come into contact with. For me, it can be hard to remain civil to someone who yells and curses for no good reason except their own supposed gain.

Anyway, I work on this very point every day. Thank you for asking.

Most of the time, It's hard all the time, because some people are just so rude first. If I am mean to someone I try to offset things and be nice to someone else, to be nice the next time I see that person. We're all human, so no one is perfect.

I try to ... sometimes I forget to do so, but I think it is important to treat people as you want to be treated, and I hate people not using polite manners when they are speaking to me. Sometimes I even tell my husband off for not saying please!!

In public - most of the time. Depends on the situation and how much I've had to drink.

In private - no way!
