We all now he can crush the ball out of the stadium. But this year, he's been hitting for average, and using the whole ballpark for hits. Right now, he's over .300, compared to .259 and .254 in his years with Cincy. I've also noticed that he has good speed, though he's not quite a basestealer yet. He actually leads the Red Sox in infield hits and is able to leg out some great triples. His arm is pretty strong, but the only real question mark is his defense.

So, you think he might be able to become a five tool player?

Yes. People expect immediate results in the outfeild from this guy because he's been in the league for a while. What people don't realize is that Pena hasn't been an everyday player. I expect, as with most outfeilders getting used to Fenway Park, he will improve out there. I think Wily Mo's career may be plagued with some injuries though. I hope not, I like him as a player and he seems like he enjoys playing the game.

i'd say Chase Utley and whilst Jimmy Rollins is enjoying properly. Shane Victorino does not have too lots ability yet he canchronic a ball. the sole questionable situation approximately Utley's 5 strategies would be his arm yet i've got considered him throw men out at third from shallow top field. i'd say Utley is the foremost guy. Plus he's 13 for 13 in stolen base tries this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days.

He has the ability to be a 4 tool player...I worked in Player Development when we signed Wily Mo...he has the power, he can hit for average...he runs well, and he can throw okay...but he was never a great fielder. His arm is above average...but not outstanding.

This is the Red Sox thinking that he can be a 5 tool player.

Maybe a little time with Dewey Evans in right field shagging balls will help him out with fielding. 8 Golden gloves accounts for something doesn't it

Willy mo is young he will get better.

I think he's a juiced up yankee reject.

He's garbage. Period. The end. He's Wily Mo.

He'll become a five tool player... just like Caca Crisp replaced Johnny Damon and put up better numbers.

I would be willing to bet he would end up at DH and I think he would be right now except for Ortiz. I wouldn't call his defense a question mark, I would call it a disaster. It is ugly, so I would say no he can't be a five tool player.
