u as a parent have to remain strong, assertive, and calm. I'm going through the same situation w/ 2 kids, and its H A R D! What I started to do was make drastic changes, I stopped having argue matches and said ok u want to disrespect me.....watch this, they would come in the house and ..POOF! the tv was missing......POOF....the playstation was gone......do those dishes or you will wear the same school clothes from last year. Earn ur respect back, he is a child, arguing is pointless, action is priceless. GOOD LUCK, PS my boy threatened to run away, I let him, the police were called courtesy of me, and guess who got in trouble.....Not I. It was u want to live in a group home u spoiled brat..or u wanna follow my rules?!
I agree with the previous comment, there may be some emotional anguish, father missing, school, love life, insecurities, talk with him like a caring parent, Therapy is superb. But for me, I spoiled my kids, and now they've gotten worst, so everyones situation is different

Sounds like your son is going through something emotionally, anger is a result of something deeper. There's a reason that he is acting out in this manner. Please sit down with him and talk to him, or have an adult male speak to him(it might not be something you can help him with) Whatever you do don't give up be there for him, he sounds really vulnerable at this point. Good luck!

Sounds like your son is rebelling against you. They all do it. You have to change your reactions to him before he'll change his resonse to you.
