should i get a different cordless telephone? I've already been disconnected for no apparent reason. Thanks!

They shouldn't impact each other too much because your router can compensate, but your router can also function on 11 separate channels within the 2.4Ghz range that you can change if you do notice slowdowns. Ususally that involves typing http://192.168.1.1 into your internet browser and entering in the password.

Also, don't be disappointed if you don't get the full advertised speed on your wireless connection. That happens only if you're sitting right beside your router. Expect something around half the advertised speed if you're lucky.

It could be that they are operating on the same channel...try changing channels on either the router or the phone.
