assuming his act was done on purpose with intent to harm, i'd ask him to lean in close so he could hear my comments and then give him the old leopard claw punch to the throat crushing his larynx. i'd assume they'd wisk him directly to the ER where he'd be somehow saved, and then we could room together during our mutual recovery. :-) p.s. i just saw your "clearer" fact pattern on the matter, which makes the question far more "depthful"--assuming he used the boiling soup as the only means to douse the definitely fatal flames, i'd have him lean in and shake his hand, eh?

The boiling soup would still be less hot than the flames, so technically they are still helping you out. Especially if it was the quickest thing at their disposal. If running to fill a pail of cool water would take a minute or two, the fire would cause worse damage then the soup would.
However, the best solution would be for the person on fire to "stop, drop, and roll" to help douse the flames themselves.
If the person came to visit me in the hospital, I would thank them for saving my life, and kick myself for not doing a better job at it!

no way, that could desire to be like stubbing your toe, then pounding it two times as no longer undemanding with a hammer. throw the guy on the floor, roll them around, throw a coat or blanket on the burning sufferer to place the hearth out. reliable success.

it is impossible to dump fatal falmes on someone but if it were possible and if they did i would probably push the call button and have them removed sence how you probably coun;'t talk anyway.
