Pros: If they decide not to attack back, the world community will look favorably on them. However, any actions that the UN takes will probably be ineffectual.

Cons: If they decide not to attack back, the terrorists will probably destroy their country eventually, which would be a shame. They have the right to defend themselves, in my opinion.

These answers are all dependent on how you stand on how terrorism should be dealt with.

Pro - Less civilian casulaties for Lebanon, but more Hezzbollah deaths
Con - More civilian deaths for Israel due to Hezzbollah's inevitable re-attack


Pro- Israel can save there weapons
Cons - Hezzbollah can re-arm

Pros - no Lebanese civilian casualties; world opinion may have stayed unquestionably on Israel's side

Cons - more Israeli civilian (and some military) casualties; world opinion has not been a consistent supporter of Israel in past instances when they've been attacked

there would not have been blood shed .but Hezbollah would have seen this as a true victory for them .and probably attack Israel instead.and this would have lead to a total destruction of Lebanon and it's peoples .
