As a straight man, I must admit to using the word "hunk", but not in the context you're talking about. In fact the word hunk can be manly if used appropriately.........
"God i would die for a hunk of beef and a cold beer right about now."
"Hunk" in the context you are referring to............
"God that David Hasselhoff is a total hunk"
should NEVER be used by a straight man, and doing so automatically makes said straight man GAY (a little bit at least for the moment he uses "hunk" in a sentence.)
