In the city I live in, there is a tattoo shop with a statue that has a spiderweb on its elbow and around town I saw some white people with the web on their elbow.

No, it doen't mean that at all. White people don't conspire to signal each other about hurting black people. And it's really pretty offensive a question, to be honest. You know what you need to do? Make friends with some white people and get to know them. I had some crazy ideas about black people and was pleasantly surprised to find out what wonderful people black people are, except when they get crazy ideas about white people. Do you suppose we will all ever work through these issues?

No, it doesn't mean they've physically harmed anyone...it actually has (from what I've gathered) two meanings. The first one is to symbolize that they've done time in prison. The second is that they may be involved in a white supremicy group. That doesn't mean they've harmed someone of course...it could just mean that they're an ignorant fool who think's white supremicy is cool. Either way...I'm not sure it's a SMART idea to get a tattoo that represents either idea! Mostly, it's an advertisement for how stupid the person is. Also, not everyone who has that tattoo is involved in either thing. Some people just think it's a neat look.

Who said white people were the only people capable of hurting black peoples feelings? Most people's feelings would be hurt if someone didn't like them simply because of their race. And yes, if an Asian person didn't like them their feelings would be just as hurt. If another black person didn't like them, their feelings would probably be even more hurt. If you want people to believe you're a black person, next time get an actual black persons perspective before asking such a silly question.

Its supposed to mean that a person spent time in prison, but now more people get the web tattoo solely because it looks good.

Not necessarily. It is a tattoo that many skinheads have, but having it doesn't make you a Nazi.

A very close friend of mine has spider web elbow tattoos and he's not any kind of racist.

Why would seeing it on white people's elbows make you think that they hurt a black person? If that is true, it is the weirdest thing I've ever heard of...

No, it doesnt have any paticular meaning. The ones obtained in prison are supposed to track the amount of time one has spent in prison..one new section per year ect. I have one, but it has a black rose in the middle. I have never been to prison, nor hurt anyone of another race.

I had never heard that. I thought it meant they were in prison or incarcerated in some way and didn't have access to good tat equipment.
