I get called Alicia all the damn time, pisses me off. I worked at a grocery store and I would have my nametag on, but one of the grocery managers would always call me "Alicia" On my last day of work, I flipped out and told him that for three years I had been telling him my name was not Alicia, it's Ashlee. He was totally shocked, it was great.

IT might be a power or lack of respect thing. Oh she may just have trouble with names.
When I first introduce people, they NEVER get my name right. It is a shore name that is sort of different, but only one letter off from a VERY common name.... They always assume it's the common name. So I have to correct people all the time. Then I help them with something like. "Its ______ like the ______.
You could say; "It's Jessica like Jessica simpson." to help her remeber. If that doesn't work make up a nick name to call her that is off from her name.

There are 2 people I call by the wrong name. The tech guy whose real name is Gabriel, but I call him Daniel. I called him Daniel all day the first day I met him, he didn't correct me and actually answered to it so I consider it his own fault I learned it wrong. Then there is Roger, I call him Rodney and then have to apologize because I know as soon as it's out that I called him by the wrong name again. One of the doctor's call the lab tech Trisha and her name is Jamie

A teacher in high school insisted on calling everyone by their full names (Robert rather than Bob, Suzanna rather than Sue, etc.). She called me Theresa all the time when my full name was actually just Terry (sorry, my Dad spelled it that way). I told her over and over that my name was Terry and she insisted that was just a nickname. It drove me crazy! I finally brought in a copy of my birth certificate. She called me Theresa anyway.

Nearly all of my teachers call me Anne (I prefer Annie). It's not a big deal or anything, but still annoying.
Also, some people my dad works with call me Amy. I don't have the heart to tell them my REAL name, ha ha ha.

A couple of times. Typically with people I meet only occasionally.
But sometimes even my grandma makes the mistake - calling me my cousin's name.

The people at church tend to call me "Janie" or "Janna" and I'm not sure how to correct them. It drives me buggy but I'm used to it. I've been called "Janine", "Janice", and so many other names that I wish I could wear a name tag at all times so I could make sure people know what my name is.
