Watching news reports you see certain peoples that seem to draw some comfort/enjoyment in making a effigies and burning and beheading them. On the other hand people from western countries like America,Canada,Britain etc are not into that nonsense. Are the later more mature? How would you explain the difference in mentality?

I think it is an issue of population being educated to a standard of respect. We do have it good in this country! Also, our control mechanisms (laws, courts, voting, constitution, rights, etc) are socially mature.

However, we have not right to push our government in other countries - we need to mind our own business, only help when asked and agreed.

Actually, my recollection of the Vietnamese war time is filled with flag-burning and the burning of Nixon effigies. It is not so much the culture as the passion that determines the behaviour, the exceptions being cultural rituals. I have no objection to the burning of effigies. It is so much better than burning the real thing.

If Bin Laden were captured and sentenced to 18 months, I think you would see just how "mature" we are.

Ppl in the US, Canada, and Britain all use effigies to one degree or another to make various points. They hang by the neck, burn, or mutilate effigies all the time. I'm not sure there is a different "mentality" specific to any race or culture.

Growing up in different cultrues we are like sponges from birth. We absorb and release what we absorb. We are a product of our own environment. Some people grow a bigger conscience and feel like certain things are more wrong than others. It is not something we can explain because to many people it does not make sense. You can either chose to except the difference, chose to not except the difference. And then you can try to change there mind if you really think you can make a difference and take that risk. That is my take on the situation.

In the countries you mentioned, there is no "effigies" being burned, but there is still wanton, mindless destruction. How else would you explain the riots caused by sports fans, college students and in the "ghettos"? It is the same mentality: blame others for your own problems and shortcomings. It's easier than looking to yourself to solve your problems.

It's all about imagination. They are just more creative about their stuff. We just call a press conference.
