I've read that life on Earth probably originated in Outer Space. This makes sense because the DNA of all the species on earth are extremely similar, which means (do tell me if I'm wrong!) that it all evolved from one source.

So does this mean aliens have the same DNA as we do, meaning they have the same "ancestors" as us ? Or is it possible to have life without DNA ? With a completely different molecule that performes the same functions ? And in that case, why don't we have that sort of life-forms here on Earth ?

Are there any biologists who succeeded at developing new primitive life-forms ? If so, do they have DNA or not ? If they do, they wouldn't be really "new", I guess, since it'd have to be the DNA of a pre-existing species, wouldn't it ?

I don't know. First we need to find an alien, then we need to swab its cheek cells. ;)

Ooooonly recently was the actual theory of life-travelling-frozen-in-an-asteroid came about (as did the idea of a meteroite causing the dinosaur's existance, for instance). Life can survive in pretty unbearable conditions but as far as we know organic matter can only survive to pretty particular means. In other words, we're fussy assh0les. Plus we receive stellar dust all the time.

But in my opinion its unlikely, cos this planet seems to be the ideal requirement for us. I think its important to look at it from that point of view, because life isn't exactly bouncing around the solar system. A comet with a special delivery on it a billion years ago would be such a fluke, and then there's the question of where it came from anyway.

Plus- without any other examples of homegrown life other than our own its pretty hard to tell! its quite possible that aliens would be made up of a totally different cellular structure, ie that they have an 'alternative' to DNA. we'd probably speak different languages after all, right, so why not be written in a different language? We might not even be able to percieve them exactly as life, maybe the same way we have trouble with the classification of viruses.

Life cannot be possible without DNA, it IS life, so we need it or something like it to program our cells what to do and to evolve. A flesh-and-blood alien would have to have DNA, or something to store that kind of information.

Actually, there are distinct differences in DNA between certain groups of organisms. For example, bacterial DNA is usually not associated with histones, while eukaryotic DNA is.

We have no idea whether aliens (presumably you mean extraterrestrial organisms) have DNA or something like it, because we haven't found any such beings yet.

if life on earth originated from an alien source then the aliens would also hav DNA. but if life Evolved on earth and aliens exist then they would have some genetic material..

Sure, there might be a way of having life without DNA...it's just outside of our experience is all...I really think you might enjoy reading some stuff by Rupert Sheldrake on morphic resonance, morphogenetic fields, and formative causation.

It is "possible" that life was seeded on earth from space
though our human DNA would have no relation to any microbes
from space or microbes from anywhere else for that matter...
