Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy Answer: THE answer is 42, and the question will be popping out of my specially designed supercomputer in just a few more years... unless somebody builds a space lane over it again.
Serious Answer: Is life a question? Is the universe a question? Is "everything" a question? I personally believe not. I do not think that life is one big question or mystery. The universe is not a question, but just a mystery in that we are not able to research all of it's seemingly infinite vastness (for it is finite). And as for "everything," that is neither question nor mystery.
As for the question of life, I believe that many people see it as a mystery or a question, for they know not the purpose of it. If you are a devout atheist and evolutionist, you will most likely choose to see life as a mystery to avoid the fact that you have no purpose and are just an "intelligent" beast born of chance into a earth which was born by chance into a universe also born of chance. Your sole purpose, if there is any, is to make try to make something of the chance of your life, which makes your life a mystery- for if you are born of chance for chance, what purpose could your life hold? Your role in this universe would be to live, reproduce, die, and further the evolutionary chain. But in reality, there is no purpose of life in that. How could there be? Please tell me.
However, if you believe in a God, the existence of which is indeniable, then you have purpose. You have been created for a purpose on an earth created for a purpose in an universe created for a purpose. In this alone will you find your purpose, and each individual has their own unique purpose- it should be your goal to seek it out and fulfill it.
As for the universe, we will never be able to fully understand it. Even though it is finite, its vastness is immeasurable, the galaxies it contains are innumerable, and the stars and planets the galaxies contain are countless. The universe will be a mystery only because we will never be able to fully comprehend it. It is not a question, that is if you are not an atheist or evolutionist. If you are, the universe would be one big question. How did it just give birth to itself? Why did it come into existence? What caused it to come into existence? Why does it exist? How, even by chance, could this happen? To believe such is fatalistic in that all things are predetermined and controlled by chance. By not accepting the reality of a god, you make Chance a god.
I hope this helps. You can make life a mystery, or you can discover its meaning. If you seek the truth, you will find it.

The answer, as pointed out above, is 42. But I seem to be the only one to have figured out what the question is.
In the Hitchhiker books, it's said that, if the question and answer are ever simultaneously known in the same universe, that universe will disappear to be immediately replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable.
Thus, "the question" is "How many times has this happened?"
Think about it, and it really explains a lot: The current universe we inhabit is bizarre and inexplicable to the 42nd power. I mean, come ON, people! If that doesn't explain life, the universe, and everything, nothing does.
;-)
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share that with you.

I do not believe there is an answer to everything, there are always questions, always, but not everything has a purpose (I'm not saying your life is meaningless, I'm saying there is always the question of whether we are meant to be here, if we really ARE here, and if we are just dreams, created by some greater being.) Ok, that was kinda a crappy answer, but that's how i feel about it.

Why don't you just read the Bible once. Everyone thinks they know it's bunk, but why don't you just once do the work for yourself and you might be surprised what you find out.
