NO! Reptile aquariums are not made to hold water. The seals are not tight enough. You may end up with an exploded fish tank and flopping fish. Go buy a real tank meant for fish.

you are not necessarily supposed to because of the diseases and stuff that reptiles leave behind. However, it can be done. I have a 45 gallon tank that has been turned into a freshwater tropical fish tank.

Make sure that you first clean the tank out repeatidly with very hot water and soap, to get rid of anything that the reptiles may have left on the glass. Also, make sure that the tank that was bought can be used for either.

That's usually a one-way transformation. You can use an old fish tank for reptiles, but reptile aquariums aren't really made to take the strain of all that water. You MIGHT get away with it, but I'd test the tank for a week or so first.

WHAT EVER YOU DO DO NOT CLEAN THE TANK WITH SOAP...

Soap is not good for fish. Even if you think you have gotten it all there is still some in there. It will kill the fish.

Now to answer your question I don't really know. But I woudl say no because the rep tank is not made to hold the water.
