The money of an inkjet printer is not in the cost of the printer... it's in the cost of the INK.

Let's say you bought a darn printer for $50, then spend $75 every 6 months on Ink... What cost more?

If you buy a quality printer like a Canon photo printer for let's say $100, then spend $45 every six months on ink, that would be MUCH cheaper.

So you are stuck with a piece of junk. You would have to try another ink cartridge to find out if that is the problem. Ask your (former friend) the seller if it worked before sending it to you.

If you're printer is installed properly along with the proper software, you will be able to check whether the ink is running low through a GUI (Graphical User Interface).

Now, as far as printer not printing, that's a seperate issue, because a printer will print even with low ink or sometimes even with no ink (but will print blanks)...

It sounds to me that your friend just screwed you.

Possible reasons why a printer won't print:
1. Drivers are installed incorrectly.
Solution: Uninstall and/or Reinstall

2. Drivers are not installed
Solution: Install drivers (To get them, go to your printer manufacturer website and download them)

3. Printer hardware is damage
Solution: Go to a repair shop or buy a new one

4. Paper Jam
Solution: Open printer and find where the jam occured

5. Out of Paper
Solution: Put paper on tray.

1: Need to know the MAKE & MODEL of Printer.

2: Have you INSTALLED the DRIVER software for the printer?

3: What does "Doesn't go" mean? Does the printer seem to be printing but noting shows up on the paper for example?

4: What OS are you using?

What is the model of printer? The ink may have dried out. The nozzles might need cleaning. You friend shouldn't have charged you for an old printer. Can't be too much of a friend. Never should have paid for it. Send your friend a letter telling him/her the police were at your pad looking for him/her. That will teach your friend for selling you bogus equipment.

when you say it doesnt go if you mean its not moving or trying to print then its not the cartridge but if it tries and nothing is on the paper you need a new cartridge
