Just a random question. I just cannot understand what is so fun about chasing a little ball around.

I play because it is a game of skill, patience, and class. There are a lot of life lessons that can be learned and fine tuned in golf. Golf requires practice, persistence, and honesty. It is a game that also requires deep concentration and is full of tough choices. I could go on for days describing what I like about the game, from teeing up first, to crushing the ball of the tee, to landing it on the green, to watching your opponent hit first because he is out, to sinking that putt. Then there's all the little things, the scenery, the freshly cut grass, the pin flag waving in the wind, the squirrels, the ducks, the silence, the breeze, that nice buzz I get after nine beers, and the feeling of accomplishment and pride when you've played well. But most of all I enjoy being just being outside for hours upon end. And besides, chasing anything is fun when you're in a golf cart, whether it be the ball, a squirrel, or that good looking cart girl.

I like golf, as long as I don't keep score.

I think its fun because it's a skill game...it's a great feeling to hit a great shot.

Primarily because it is a social game. Four friends can get together and spend a few hours relaxing and enjoying the outdoors. The game is a way to keep entertained, to laugh at each others mistakes, and to celebrate each others successes.

I used to feel the same way until I played it. It's nice to be outside in the fresh air. And when I play, it's always with friends...so THAT'S a bonus!

Use to but not anymore. It is fun like it use to be the people appear to be way to snobby for me and the greens fees are out of control.

Don't knock it 'til you try it! "A bad day on the golf course is better than a good day at work." Plus, my doctor says I should get more "iron" in my diet. ;-)
