I keep finding these friends that seem to have the need to lie to me about NOTHING. They fabricate stories that make no sense, like having miscarraiges, dating a celebrity, seeing the neighbors do things like walk around in there bra in the yard! Weird things that are obvious lies. This is the third person I've become friends with that does this. Is there a reason that I am attracting friends like this or do people just feel the need to make up stories to me. It's driving me crazy. Of course, I just smile and nod when they come up with these things but why can't I find a normal person to hang out with?

It sometimes start in your mind and sometimes it doesn't. If you generally don't trust yourself and trust other people, you will attract those kind of people. If you have it in your mind that all people lie and can't be trusted, nine times out of ten that is the type of people that you will attract. Affirm to yourself that you have people you can trust around you and you are trustworthy everyday and watch how things change. Also, there are some crazy people out here but make sure when you run into a habitual liar don't just nod and agree, put them in their place so they can think twice trying to do it to the next person.

Sure they are lying? maybe they think that your life is so much more exciting than theirs that they make things up to appear cool.
try making up stories in return.
My boss does the same, tells stories that have no purpose, I decided that his life is so dull he can't help himself. I have now started doing the same back, I'm not very good at it yet as lying is not my preferred activity, but it is worth it when he realises that he is the only one who didn't know the truth! and he seems to have stopped making it up so much!
