Even if he is working out and in pretty good shape, 200 lbs. is too much to hang on a 5'6" frame, even for an adult. For a sixth grader, it seems even more out of whack; however, he may be an early bloomer. Hopefully he will grow vertically to even out the extra weight on his frame; the best thing to do is to see that he does not gain any more as he gets taller. 200 lbs. would be about right for an adult male who is over 6 feet tall. Tell him he'll grow into his weight, but he needs to make sure he doesn't gain any more.

Not only is he overweight, he is morbidly obese. He has a BMI of 32.3. Because of this extra weight he could suffer from diabetes, or an early heart attack. I think you should probably help him drop the pounds or hes going to be made fun of in school and be very unhealthy. A good weight for him is about 150 lbs.

If he trains and jogs every morning with his sister (since you talk about her too in another question) then no! If he doesn't train then he should begin! Go with him to see a Dr and you'll have a more official answer. There's to much focus on weight. Everyone should eat from the different food groups and avoid candies, chips and soft-drinks as much as possible. Eating well and training is key to a healthy life!

Do you hear a tuba playing whenever he walks? If so, put him on a diet. Fat kids have problems in school - they get picked on a lot and are ostracized from the cool kids. I was a fatty when i got into 7th grade. Ever since then I've been buff.

and chicks dig me!

He is overweight, yes; and unless he is a very athletic muscular 200 lbs (i.e. a football player who gets lots of exersize) it is probably a very unhealthy weight.

YES. Does he see his pediatrician? He should get on some kind of diet/exercise plan before he has serious health problems.
