I do not like their furs on me or in my house and if a dog barks i just panic. Do not get me wrong I would never abuse them but I will never own one. What do you think all you animal lovers and animal haters?

It's okay that you don't like pets. I am a woman and I don't like kids, so I get people asking me when I'm having kids and all that stuff, and the answer is NEVER. Now I love animals though! So I can understand by reversing the situation, not everyone has to be an animal lover. As long as you don't mistreat animals you are ok in my book.

Pets are fine (I have a 10 yr old springer spaniel dog) but if you're going to be a responsible pet owner they do entail a lot of hard work, puppies especially. For example: keeping the house hygienic and free of hairs if they live indoors, training them to an acceptable standard and caring for their health and welfare - also vets fees and insurance can be expensive. Pets can be a bind when you want to travel, or if you become ill and unable to look after them. Unlike children, they don't grow up and leave home, so they are there for life. A decision to own a pet should be a very considered one.
Positively, they can help keep you fit and ease stress, they provide company at lonely times. Their loyalty is unconditional. And it can be nice to grow old together.
Pets have their place, but I don't think there's any need to "hate" animals if you don't feel comfortable with them, since it isn't the animal's fault. Rather the problem lies within the individual, who is free to seek counselling or to avoid contact as is their choice. If your pet owner friends understand your fears, then I'm sure they will make allowances when you visit them by keeping their pet contained elsewhere.

I am an animal lover, but I can understand people who don't like getting the fur on them, and I am also scared of dogs, but I love my cats!

I personally cannot imagine a life with out my pets. They are just an extension of my family. I am sorry but I do not understand nor do I get a long with people who just have no passion for animals. I mean that is fine for you... but I just do not understand it. Animals have always been a part of my life and I would never change that. Animals are a very important part of my happiness. What ever works for you I guess...

There is nothing wrong in not being interested in pets, and there is no need to own one either. However, if you reject them, you may have had an unpleasant experience with animals in the past. This is just a possibility, don`t take it too seriously. Try to discover the reason yourself.

i would assume you had a tramatic experience with an animal when you were young. is it the feeling of the fur? or the fact that they shed that you dont like? maybe you're just a neat freak.
i would give it a try tho. one day. babysit someone's puppy for them. a really young animal that is just going to want to sit with you and be petted. you might find that you actually do like the quality time.

There are some people that simply do not care for animals. That is fine. Personally--I could not live without my 2 dogs.
I dont care for cats but my dogs are part of my family.

I think you are missing out. Pets have so much love to give. They are great company and great comforters. I could not be without my dog. I love the way she always welcomes me home and it sets me up for the evening even after a really bad day.

Hey you carry on don't become a cat lover freak and die in a house with 78 cats eating your corpse and as for dogs i love them but couldn't eat a whole 1.

Sorry to hear that, a cat makes a wonderful friend, lowers blood pressure etc, maybe you need to get some help to overcome this problem good luck!
