Option 1
- go to control panel
- double click 'Sound and Media'
- at the bottom part of the "sound" tab...the part that says 'sound volume'
- put a check in a box besides 'show volume control on the task bar'
- click 'apply' or 'ok'

Option2 (If option1 was not the case)
- Check if you're speaker is plugged correctly or check if your speaker is not damaged or broken
- if you're speakers are ok, try reinsatlling your sound card.
- to check, right click on My computer...choose properties...click on the 'harware' tabe and click Device Manager. If there's a yellow thingy in your sound card it means that you need to re-install it. (You usually have the CD along with your computer)

Look in the control panel for 'Sound and Audio Devices'... Check the sound tab to see what sound driver is enabled... It may be set to none or default. Make sure it lists the proper sound card you are using in your computer.

There are other settings in here that May help. Also if you recently installed Windows Media Player or Real Audio or some-other program, they try to take over all sound properties... You may want to check these as an alternative.

Good luck!

go to the control panel and click on Sounds and Audio Devices. Check and see what your volume settings are and adjust as needed.

There should be a little icon in the bottom right hand corner. Or you need to buy speakers.
