It depends on what you mean by "support the war". I was against the war in 2003 because I did not see the need. The president stated that Saddam was an imminent threat. He also implied that Iraq was involved in 9/11 when neither was true. He was trying to kill a mosquito with a sledge hammer and it wasn't even the right mosquito.
The situation is different now. We now have to live with the colossal mistakes that Bush and his administration have made by ensuring stability in Iraq before our forces leave. It now is in out national security interests to be in Iraq when it was not in 2003. By the way. I'm registered as an independent but usually vote democrat.

Because it's a war of aggression based upon false pretenses.
(1) There are no WMD's.
(2) Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9-11.
(3) We are not bringing 'democracy' to anyone, because the U.S.A. is NOT a democracy, it's been a PLUTOCRACY since November of 1963 when a handful of globalists whacked JFK.
These are the hard and cold facts. There are a thousand other reasons why Iraq is a bogus war, but these three are good enough to start with.

I believe the war was a mistake that has cost too many Iraq and American lives. With that said, I believe that we have created a humanitarian disaster in Iraq, and while the situation continues to get worse day by day, it would be catastrophic for the Iraqis if we left now. If we left, then our next President(Democrat hopefully!) would have to return when Iraq when they turn full blown civil war or genocide, because it's the mess we made and we would need to clean it up...
I just wish our President would have considered this when he invaded Iraq on false pretenses.

Only because the president lied about way, and we hit a lot of civilian targets, and despite owning the country now we still lie about why and the price of oil hasn't dropped!
The US goes in an claims the country for the oil but saying it's for WMDs that we sold to them. The UN then says the US is now allowed to control the oil, since we said we weren't going in for the oil (when we really were IMO).... so the UN controls the oil, and the US doesn't benefit from it. But then the UN sells the oil to the international oil companies that Bush owns stocks in, so Bush still makes a pretty penny on all the oil... just we US citizens don't!
Bush sends our troops in to get oil for his companies while saying it's to get back weapons that we sold to Iraq in the first place!
That's why!

I didn't support the invasion in the first place.. Since we're there we should finish the job.. I don't believe the person who got us into this mess should have been rewarded with a second term..

The Big picture. Lot of speculation that weapons were moved to Syria. Tied with Iran. Iran is close to nuclear power.
North Korea close to nuclear power as well.
Why wouldn't he want to keep with the other tyrants?

i support the purpose, but it is getting messy. that is how war is though, no use whining about it. it takes sacrifice, and war is violent, so there will be deaths.

Well, we could have just sat around and wait for another attack on our soil. But instead we took the fight to them. Now, which do you prefer?
