3 X 250.00 = 750.00 X 5% = 22.50

250 x 3 = 750
750 x .08 = 60 the commission from the last 3 suits (its an additional 3% on top of the 5% you already get so its 8%)

On word problems you must read the question very carefully. If the question read they received 3% for every suit after 10 then yes the answer would be A. But the question says they receive and additional (the key word) 3% which means they get 8% for every suit after.

10suits x $250/suit= $2,500 5% of $2500 (2500 x .05) = $125
