He has not been widely discussed or written about, people know so very little of his life or beliefs, nobody appreciate what they do not know.

He hasn't been represented well in western educational programs. I don't even know if you learn anything about him until you get to college and take a class that would center on Islamic studies.

I do have to agree with the last commentator, though: many people famous in their time are nameless today.

Westerners tend to study western figures of history, just as Easterners tend to study Eastern figures of history.
