Spam is bulk mailings sent out to a large number of people with the hope that some small percentage will open it, of those who open it a small percentage will read it and of those who read it a small percentage will actually respond in the manner intended. The people who send out spam may send 10,000,000 messages for 100 responses. It is annoying and wastes time, and it is illegal, but many of the companies that use it are based off-shore where they cannot be touched by any government's justice department. most email service providers provide some sort of filter but nothing is perfect.

The companies that send this will roll their email addresses so that they won't be recognized by spam filters. they also intentionally misspell words in the "subject" line so that key words will pass through. all you can do is set the spam filter to its highest setting and cross your fingers. never post your email address in places like this message board, there are programs that troll these places and sort out anything that looks like an email address, like this: myfirst_middle_andlastname@yahoo.com.
Now that I have put that here someone will try to send an email to it even though it does not exist.

It is junk mail, and when you receive it report as spam to keep it from not coming back.
