As a die-hard Sens fan things look good. If Gerber can repeat his regular season and be healthy for the playoffs the goaltending should be better than ever. The top line is great but like a lot of teams I always worry about secondary scoring. The defence is solid, I am very glad they kept Redden instead of Chara and I am looking forward to seeing Preissing on the powerplay.

Go Sens Go!

Another die-hard Sens fan, so yea my vote goes for them. They have been the unfortunate victims of playoff rounds, as they never address any issues they occurred during the regular season, and then just hope perhaps they can ignore it and play great in playoffs, wont happen.

I must say I am very pleased to see many other people out here pleased about the keeping of Redden opposed to Chara, and the admiration of his talent. Redden is the better two-way player and shows that he doesn't need super size or strength to be a smart and good player.

I'm hoping it'll be Ottawa, Edmonton, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto (hey I'm a Sens fan, Toronto will always be last j/k)

It's all about Gerber as it was in Carolina. They are a little small on the front line but that seems to be fine in the current NHL system. The backline is good and although I'm a Bruins fan, you're right that Redden was the better choice. Chara is kinda just freaky, he plays big but not always very smart.

If I had to say for this year, I'd pick Calgary though. They are deep and very talented.

Anyone who thinks the leafs will win is drunk. Face it they suck. The Sens are a great team but as history shows they are chock artists when the pressure is on. The Habs, well ... they're the Habs. All western teams are great skating teams with good goaltending. Both Vancouver and Edmonton have lots of fire power while Calgary lacks in this department.

If you want to pick the best Canadian team look to the West!!!

Edmonton , Calgary and Vancouver are going to be fun to watch with the 3 best goalies in the league.Calgary and Vancouver may be slow to start with the new coaching and Edmonton will pick up where they left off last year. They would have won the cup if Dwayne was not injured.

Ottawa never seems to have that fighting spirit when it comes down to playoffs but Gerber should be an improvement.Toronto will fair much better with Raycroft and an excellent coach but will still have to fight to get to the 2nd round.

I have to go with the Calgary Flames , Followed by Vancouver and then the Senators. Calgary and Vancouver are rock solid in net and both have pure snipers who can score at will as does Ottawa. Defensively Redden and Phaneuf are the two best defensman of the Canadian teams with McCabe getting some consideration. In my mind Iginla is the best player of all the Canadian teams with Sudin being second.

Montreal Canadians (1) Ottawa Senators (2) Vancouver Canucks (3) Calgary Flames (4) Toronto Maple Leafs (5) Edmonton Oilers (6)

Canadians - 1st in Northeast, Senators 2nd, Leafs 3rd

Northwest - Canucks-1, Calgary-2, Edmonton-4

I'm in Ottawa, but I have to call it as I see it.

Calgary Flames

Kiprusoff = Best goalie in the league

The addition of Alex Tanguay playing with Jarome Iginla is gonna be deadly for other teams goalies. Calgary has a big young defense in Phaneuf and Regher plus vets like Hamrlik to make them that much better. Four solid lines, depth on the farm, anybody on the team will scrap if need be ....... if they can score this year, watch out!

Sorry dude, the Sens took steps backwards this offseason. Losing Havlat is going to hurt, as will losing Smolinski's veteran leadership. Every Sens fans says the team need a gritty veteran player to get further in the playoffs, and they haven't addressed that hole in the team.
