is the public school systems way of controlling us? Isn't self-esteem self-respect? And self-respect is something people have to get on their own. By saying it is self-esteem, the school system has the right to blame it on others since they say others can only raise a person's self-esteem

Unaccountable self-esteem can be a dangerous commodity. Have you seen test results that reflect high levels of confidence in math competency for students from the US but very low levels of actual competence relative to students in other countries? Rather than teaching basic computational skills and building on those skills, schools were teaching students to feel comfortable with math.

I am afraid that some of our politicians are afflicted with faux self-esteem -- believing they have all the answers to extraordinarily complex situations. At the same time surrounding themselves with people who feed their egos and affirm (or even plant) crazy ideas.

the public school system is a training program for you to conform to society and become a sheep.

You can not learn self esteem from others, you must find the love and respect in yourself.
Your family really should have help you form a positive self image in your formative years....

I dislike the current state of Public Schools. I am a product of the Public Schools...and back in the day the decay and liberalism was intoxicating. Police, guns..... don't belong in school, kids who want to learn, grow and mature do.

Our kids go to private school-----not that we are super rich but it's worth it.
