The solution will depend on what your problem actually is. Is your PC infected by a VIRUS, SPYWARE, TROJAN or Worm? If it is nything other than a virus most anti-virus softwares will not be able to remove it. Your first concern should be to identify waht it is. Some trojans, worms & spyware reside in the BIOS of the system and will not be removed y formatting. Once you know what has infected your system, check the net for a fix or antiware.
Be very careful when taking a backup of your data before formatting the hard drive. DO NOT blindly backup all the files on your drive. This may also include files that will retransmit the virus. make sure the file is not infected before your copy it and also backup files that you know are your. If they are system files dont copy them. They will be reinstalled after the format anyways.
Good luck and happy recovery

If you want to use an anti-virus then i would suggest Norton 2006. That's the best. If even it cannot solve your problem, then contact Symantec, the solution provider for Norton Antivirus.
However, if you do not want to spend money on the above, then try re-installing windows on your computer. It should help you.

the best way to clean the virus which cannot be done by the anti-virus is by formatting the hard-drive. dont forget to take the important backups not only files but also the settings of some programs which u use.

It could be a virus or may be a spy-ware.
scan for both virus and spy-wares.
If still it not working. backup your important files
and format reinstall your hard drives.
once done. install an anti virus and anti spy-ware, update them.
before loading your backup files scan them, else u will be back to square one.
Good Luck.

Rebuild it. Save any documents you want need onto a disk, and reinstall the operating system.
Sometimes it's just easier to start over than to spin your wheels.

i experienced such thing to my computer too, well i guess you have to do is to re-format your computer. but first of all before reformatting it, you need to clean your files/system using McAfee as you got there in your computer. then after that you can start reformatting your computer. it'll help to minimize your problems to your computer. not really problemless coz VIRUS is VIRUS. it's a major problem in a computer. you can minimize but you can't get it away totally! better not to open sites that can cause viruses in your computer. careful!!
