As others have mentioned it's very difficult to get tickets but you can get tickets easier if you are willing to buy singles and sit with a bunch of people you don't know. I've done it a couple times to see games/teams I really wanted to see and ended up with really good seats both times. Failing that you can try on the day they go on sale, not sure but the date given previous sounds reasonable, pick a crappy team way into the season on a midweek and you should be able to get a couple of seats up in the rafters.

Individual tickets go on sale in mid-september but most seat are sold because of season ticket holders that take presidence. Sorry!

Why, do you think you can get some.
Not a chance unless you work for the team, or know somebody that works for the team.
Otherwise be prepared to spend double face value to ticket proprietors on the street.
