Nothing, but eventually dark clothes will fade due to the warm water. They will fade eventually anyways, but warm water will quicken the process.

Usually white clothes are washed with hot water because it does a better job cleaning, but if you put color clothes in hot water the colors may run and tint the rest of the load. That is why colors should be washed on cold or warm water, never with hot water. Otherwise you will end up with pink shirts just like it happened to me.

I wash everything in warm water. I haven't seen much of a change with anything and I've been doing it like this for tooooo many years.

Older people have always told me "cold water for darks, hot water for whites" so I split the difference and just do them all in warm... separated of course cause no one likes PINK undies that aren't supposed to be pink! Or in my case GREEN EVERYTHING cause my daughter put her sheets in with all the other clothes.... orange and green really did not mix well!!!
