When you answer a question, do you check out everyone else's reply first or do you answer first then go back

I answer first, then go look.

I usually answer first because I only answer those questions that really interest me. Then I go back and check everyone elses. However, if there are too many answers when I get there, I don't answer at all because I don't think too many people read past the first 10 or so.

If it's a question that I'm not quite positive about the answer, I check out some of the other answers. I sometimes check just to make sure I'm not duplicating someone else's answers too. For the most part, if it's a question I can answer based on my knowledge and experience, I write the answer without hesitation (or peaking at other answers). I didn't look for this one!

It depends on the question. If I'm expressing an opinion then I probably wouldn't check other people's answers until I've posted mu own.

If I'm providing a simple, direct answer to a question then I would go back. If someone's already provided the same answer then I don't post my answer.

If I'm providing a long, detailed, factual answer then I will go back, see what others have said and sometimes edit my answer accordingly.

In respect of this question - I'll post this then read the other answers.

Usually I answer first and then go back. I type slow so by the time I answer there are already like 15 answers. Why bother reading them when you know 5 people are going to say pretty much the same thing you are before you finish typing?

I checked the other answers before I answered this question, so I guess I must do that with every question. Up until now I'd never thought about it. Interesting question, Whitecloud.

it depends on the question. if it is an obvious answer like what color is the sky, then i check the answers and maybe not answer the question if someone already put the correct answer. if it is an obvios question and i check the answers and see that it can be expanded upon, then i answer the question. if it is a hard question and i know there are not going to be any correct answers, i answer it and then check the answers.

excepet on this occassion I look first unless it is like this kind of question that is just everyone's personal prefferance and then sometime's I will submit my answer but then look at it and also check anyone elses opinion and also check over what I have said to see if there is any corrections to be made

If its a question that I can give a good honest answer w/ proof for, then I would just answer. But If it is a goof off question then I would read what everybody else says (for the laughs) and then I would answer.
