Where are you looking? Try a neat and clean appereance. Make sure you wear your pants all the up around your waist and tuck in you shirt and wear a belt. Have clean and nicely combed hair and do not wear a hat. Smile and show them that you are willing to do what ever the jobs needs you to do, This may sound like conforming but it says a lot to an employer

Its hard to know what you are doing well and what you are not without meeting you. You should meet with a person who assists people in this area. Career guidance counsellor for example. Dont underestimate how important everything you say and do and the way you dress is when doing an interview, the smallest things can stuff it up for you. what you could also do is meet with a few HR managers and say you would like to interview them to get some pointers. Say that it is a school project or something, or just be honest. You might find that if they like you they may hire you. they might also admire you intiative

Even if you're applying for a Job in food service, DRESS UP and look nice. Sit a bit forward when your future employer is talking to you (it makes it seem like you are listening intently). Always remember to be you most polite self and offer a handshake at the beginning and end of the interview.

Monster , Yahoo Hotjobs, Careerbuilder are some of the largest job boards, where you can apply for jobs and upload your resume. Since Craigslist, allows free job postings, many smaller companies post their vacancies on this online classifieds website. You can also search for jobs from multiple websites using aggregators like SimplyHired and Indeed. Referrals are also becoming a increasingly popular way to get hired.

Be prepared to do anything and everything you can do.. Helps build your skillset and i dont mean it in computer terms. I've worked as a cashier, receptionist, train ticket electronic system tester, waitress, human resources administrator and now am a proper reservation controller for an airline(cuz naturally i am older). Having gotten a go at many different things, i could choose what I really wanted to do for the long run..
