I have the current address of the guy that I haven't seen or heard from in 10 years. I have lost contact with him because I moved away. Is it a good idea to try to reconnect with him or should I just leave the past behind me. I am not sure what to do with this situation and I am looking for advise on what to do. If I should write him, what should I put in the letter and why, and if I shouldn't why or why not?

We were always really good friends and I would like to start the friendship back up again, but is this a really good idea?

It all depends on what you think you should do. If you feel really uneasy about it and not sure what to write about I think you should just keep him in the past, but if you feel like you would like to start the friendship back up again and you feel happy and excited to write to him then I would say write to him. I really can't give you a solid answer to this question because I am not you. Only you can make this decision, because it is your life alone no one elses. I hope that helped some.

Sounds like you need closure or something since you feel the need to re-connect. I say go for it. You never know what might happen. You should put in the letter your reason for writing, and where you are in life right now, and also ask some questions about how his life is going. That should get him to respond. Oh and make sure you put down the best way he can contact you.

Depends on what the situation was when you lost contact. If it was friendly and positive, then, by all means. It's always nice to hear from an old friend. However, if one of you was left hurt or heartbroken, it may be a good idea to let sleeping dogs lie and move on.

if u and him were good friends then why not.. u can 1st introduce urself, and then ask him what has he been doing for the last 10 yrs, ask him hows life, if he's married, if he has children yet, is he working, has he missed u as a friend of course and then end it.. u don't want to volunteer to much info especially if he has a someone, or if he's not the same (u know people change as the yrs go by).. if he writes back then take it from there and don't expect anything from him..

Depends of the reason you want to contact him again after so much time.
But you don't have anything to lose if you write him... Tell him that you wear looking at an old photo album and you have seen his picture (if you have any pictures with him) and you wanted to see what is he doing after such a long time...
You Will find something eventually...
I think that you don't have what to lose.... So good luck

Yes, you could write him as long as it only to say hi and not to rekindle anything other than a friendship. You could tell him what you have done for the last 10 years and see what he has been doing.

Well if you are still thinking about him after 10 years..I say go for it. What's the worst that could happen? If you don't write him you may always wonder what if? Good luck.

Why not, if you feel like it. Just say Hi and how are you, how he's going now,, etc., then don't expect too much, so you won't get hurt or offended just in case he wouldn't want to reconnect or whatever negative.
