that? stop complaining about genetics, diabetes, etc. because Mcdonalds is also a factor, sitting on your *** watching TV with chips in your hand is also a factor. if you actually stop complaining about genetics, etc. and start running 1 hour a day, you would have lost your weight by now. Are you telling me Americans are getting fatter just because of genetics? what? all of a sudden our bodies decides to make us fatter? NO its because of that burger. then they call being fat a disease. A disease is cancer, being fat is just being lazy. STOP EATING!!!!!!!!

You know, I get sooooooo tired of people who stereotype. From your 'statement', you make it seem like every overweight person in the world is blaming their weight problem on genetics, which I know is not the case.

If you've never had a weight problem, you really can't begin to understand what seriously overweight people go through. If the answer was to just "stop eating", obesity wouldn't be a national health issue, would it?

I will agree with you, I don't feel obesity is a disease. For most overweight people, it's a result of poor eating habits, combined with little or no regular physical activity.

There ARE seriously overweight people who are doing something about it. I'm one of them! I've lost 100 lbs. in four years on Weight Watchers. People achieve their weight loss goals all the time!

What helps me continue to succeed with this, in addition to using a safe, effective program, is support from friends and family. Your stereotyping rant about obesity could have been presented in a way that could have actually helped someone, rather than attacking people.

Most people who are fat due to what they eat, know that's why they are fat...but due to medical science we also now know that some health issues and genetics also factor in to people being heavy, or having the propensity to be heavy..

Some medications cause weight gain or hamper weight loss, and we're a society of people who are on all kinds of meds for all kinds of things...

I topped out at well over 200 lbs (I'm a 5'6" female) and I KNEW exactly why I was fat...no need to get on your soapbox and rant...you're not telling anyone anything they don't know...

I got tired of being fast so I did something about it...I'm no longer fat...but I understand how people can get there...a lot of us use food as a comfort or a substitute for something else missing in our lives...

Being fat is NOT just about being lazy...thats only one of MANY reasons someone might be fat... *shakes head*

America is the only country in the world that eats to lose weight. There are two ways to lose weight: eat less and move more. The prepared meals work by portion control, so you are eating less, so they're ok if you have to go that route, Exercize can be simple like take your dog for a walk after dinner. Anything that increases your average.
You will note that pills are not mentioned. Quit giving these people your money in trade for hype. Be good to yourself and not with chocolate cake.

You really are clueless, aren't you? Simple minds require simple answers. Obesity is a lot more complex than you know. Our bodies did not evolve for model runways and do not operate for thinness.

Activity can make obese people healthier, but not thinner. It takes a lot more than an hour of running - by the way, have you ever run for a full hour? - to use up any significant number of calories.

Less than 1/2 of 1% of fat people have a medical problem that contributes to their obesity. The rest take in more calories than they burn. That's a fact.
Basically, if you see a fat person-then you are looking at someone who eats too much. Claiming some medical excuse is their way to rationalize the truth (rational lies). End of story.

You're absolutely right. However, you must accept that not every fat person is like that. And your cruelty will only compound their problem. Some people eat to compensate for their feelings. You are just being very hateful. And I bet you'll be the first to yell "RACISM" when somebody judges you. I will no longer be entertaining your ignorant questions.

I think this is quite possibly the most ignorant, unintelligent, uninformed post I've read on this site.

You're really stereotyping overweight people. Would you like it if I said that all black people can get good jobs if they want...but they're all just so d@mned lazy and they don't try. Stop blaming society and get off your lazy black @ss and do something, you wasted piece of human flesh!

Doesn't feel good, does it? And it's not true in all cases, just as McDonald's hamburgers isn't always the reason fat people are fat.

I agree being overweight has never been a disease it's a bad habit . Its also a sin it's called gluttony .once peaple realize this there should be no proublem losing weight . It's just common sense less food less weight , more food more weight gain . There should be no one to blame but yourself .

People complain and blame other things because they don't want to admit fault in themselves. It's very common now, in just about any area. Blame some one else, not yourself is what people are taught by society now. Why do you think people are sue happy? "I didn't think my coffee would be hot, so I'm suing because it burned me."
