How do I properly install the default mail client?

I have tried to email web pages and a box would come up and it read " your default mail client isn't properly installed on your pc"
How do I properly install the default mail client.

I don't know which email client you want for your default email client, but if you want Yahoo! Mail as your default email program, just follow the directions below and it will solve your problem.

Teach your computer to use Yahoo! Mail.
Using Internet Explorer just click "Continue" on the link below to download a small 60K file that will enable Yahoo! Mail to be the default email program for your computer. Whenever you click on an email address on any web page or in any computer program, Yahoo! Mail will open for you in a new window.

If Internet Explorer displays a yellow security bar at the top, click on it and select Install ActiveX Control from the menu.
If a security warning comes up with Yahoo! Inc. as the publisher, click Install.

Now you can click on an email address anywhere and your computer will automatically open up Yahoo! Mail for you.
You can even send documents directly from Word, Excel, or other Windows applications.

The browser you are using is looking for the default client listing in the internet options pane.

Look under that pane -> Programs tab if you are using Internet Explorer and change the listed program for "E-Mail" to the client you are using for your email.

If you're trying to setup an email account through your internet provider you would need to call their tech support and have them walk you through setting up outlook express.
