Though it is practically possible, considering human genome is already completely mapped or at least there are claims to this effect; there will never possibly be a situation where man will understand every possible degeneration or its cause and effects on human body.

If at all and when it happens, Darwin's law 'Survival of the fittest' will come into picture because supply of mater sustaining human life is constant on earth and demand will shoot up due to zero or negligible death rates and constant (or slightly reduced) birth rates. In any case, natural deaths amount to a very small percentage of death rate. And science cannot advance to an extent that it will stop humans from making fatal mistakes.

Hmmmm, 1) Biotechnology has the promise of ending many of the diseases and ills we now face among other things... this is bad, how? 2) Science and technology have nothing to do with Morals and ethics, they are controlled by them however... 3) ? 4) Science and technology are not things that 'crash' they just are. It will depend on what humans do with the information that will be the problem. How we turn out is up to us.... not technology, science or a god... A knife is a piece of science and technology and, as with all, can be used for good or evil, by the user...

Yes, I do believe that we will solve the problem of aging sometime
in the next 40 - 50 yrs...
Other than the obvious problems with population increases , I don't
forsee any problems that can't be dealt with...
I don't know why we would stop procreating though there may
need to be some controls put on it which would not be a bad idea.

With the on going progress of technology and the never ending want of leisure, all humans are automating their day to day lives. from food processors to washing machines to air conditioners to what not. people no more walk for days and weeks to meet their dear ones or to pass a message. no one stands in the middle of the city and shout the lungs out to make an official announcement. we have television, cell phones and yes of-course internet. our physical exertion has reduced to 10%. its just the ones who want to lead a healthy lives work out and take all the un-necessary pain to get a job done which could be done in seconds. even though medical sciences reach to the peak in near future, i believe all humans will have enough leisure's in life, which will enable them not to get off a seat and do all the required work.

We all must know that, we, after all are animals with whole lot of brains. but we should not forget to give our body the required exercises which enables us to run the extra years.

summing it up, i believe we will never be able to be immortal due to some shortcomings in our anatomy. science will not reverse this process or extend it to a great extent.

It is quite possible, but requires many-fold advancement of science. But since the mass on earth is constant, there need to be decrease in mass somewhere else to bring in new borns (which is an increase in mass). To bring about this probably we would end up destroying other species, plants, etc.
Not worth it, i suppose

humans cant be immortal even if our technology can produce gold from coal. (exaggeration).

scientist dont have an idea where in our genetic makeup lies the gene for aging. even the complete genetic makeup of humans are not yet decoded. but there are studies conducted. we must recognize the knowledge of god for this reasons

Personally I don't believe people will get the chance to induce immortallity via science but this is coming from someone with a religious background

Humans will remail mortals, and this is the best way it can be. Immortality on humans will be a curse if it happens.

nah, i dont think humans can become immortal. sure they can live longer, but i think 150 ish would be the limit. I say this bc of the skin. it ages, sags, and it is constantly having to repair itself. i dont think anything can ever replace skin. yeah, i guess thi guy might be able to live longer than that, but the skin would have to be completely removed and replaced with....latex? and wouldnt you be considered a robot or manikin by then?? O.o thats my 2 cents anywho.... and wouldnt that man die of saddness of loss of loved ones? isnt it kind of sad to watch your spouse die of old age and see your great great great great great great great grandchild see you and think your wierrrrrdddd?? yeah, 150.
