Just an August slump. Being up by double digit games with 6 weeks to go can do that to you. The key will be how Randolph handles the last two weeks of the season. If he does not have the Mets playing good ball in those last two weeks, then you can get nervous.

I don't think the Mets are breaking down as much as the Phillies are finally heating up. The two Met losses look to me like a pitching slump that the team can certainly recover from. Glavine is on the mound tonight against Leiber. Glavine has been the most consistent Mets pitcher. If he's feeling good, the Mets can certainly come up with a win to avoid a sweep by the Phillies.

Teams in the MLB are always very streaky. If they were getting beat like this and the Phillies were only one or two games back I would think you have alot to worry about. The Mets could win today 3-2 and only be down one game for an away series with the number two team in the division - that would be very good.

The Mets may be the best the NL has this year but will get beat if they make it to the World Series because the AL is the better league now.

i dont think so. although i am a huge phillies "phan" (and boy did we kill u guys!), u have nothing to worry about. the mets are by far the best team in the NL, its just a little slump. they'll get out of it.

No.
Baseball is a 162 game marathon.

Every team goes through a little rough spot now and again.

it's how they handle it, and bounce back that matters.
