The officials made a lot of crap calls, but there were plenty of good ones, as well. It wasn't perfect, but no World Cup is ever perfect, and we'll just have to live with that =P.

No no no.The WC 2006 was totally unfair.Football is a beautiful game to be played fair.If the WC 2006 was fair, then how can a bunch of cheaters win it when there were desrving teams like France who play fair with honour and dignity? The refree shuld hav awarded red card to Matarazzi also if he was going to dismiss Zidane. What kind of fairness is letting go of the provoker and punishing the provoked? What kind of fairness is letting go of a loser who insulted a football legend's ill mother? How can u let a team which cheats, win the most prestigious award given to a game like football?

The WC 2006 was truley UNFAIR!

As fair as any tournament could ever be. Refs made bad calls here and there, but they always will.
Brazil is still the best team in the world as far as sheer star power. Had they played like it, they might have won.
I was shocked, although not disappointed, to see France and Italy in the final. But nothing about it came across as overtly unfair.

Of course it was fair. The Italians won fair and square. I am sick of everybody being against the Italians. They really deserved it ok? THEY DIDNT CHEAT. Yes they were fair. Oh yeah and the only problems were the refs but hey refs are bad everywhere.

i think that there were alot of "unfair" ref calls during many of the games in the world cup that if made differently, could have seriously changed the outcome of the entire game. however, its silly to think "what if this happened..." or "what if that happened..." cause the outcome of the game will still remain the same...italy won. either way, though i originally wasnt rooting for italy, i'm glad they won and i think it was well deserved.

No. They should have kicked Materazzi out foreever. Ban him from playing football. I dont think the best team won. France should have won. The socceroos-Italy match was so totally unfair. The aussies deserved to win.

The referee is too quite to issue the red card. He should have find out the reason first. Certain verbal insult is worst than the physical assualt that is not life threatening. It is a good lesson that all learn.
