Creationism says Chicken...Evolution says Egg!!
Creationism and evolution are not mutually exclusive. Maybe when God created the Chicken, he did so through the egg. Perhaps, evolution and adaptation is God's plan. He is the Alpha and the Omega.
From modern science, we know that chickens come from eggs, but eggs come from chickens. The chicken certainly didn't come from a live birth. It was most likely a mutation from a reptilian ancestor that laid an egg containing a primitive chicken-like bird, which adapted and evolved into the modern chicken. Now the question is, who created the creature that laid the egg containing the primitive chicken? This could go back millions of years, back to the Big Bang Theory...of course, then you have to ask...who created the gas, rock and dust that created the universe. It certainly just hasn't always been there. Someone, or some force, had to create it.
In my opinion, I think God did create every living thing, and it is all God's plan, however He didn't just go "poof" there's a chicken and "poof" there's an egg. I don't believe the literal intrepration from the very much altered Bible where the Earth is supposed to only be between 6,500 and 8,000 years old...we have written history older than that!
I think the real answer to this question is up to you, God and your faith in whatever you believe. Of course, God created you, your conscience and your faith as well, and it is all part of His plan what you believe. Not bad, not good..He is after all, the Alpha and the Omega.

Which came first - the chicken or the egg? "The chicken" came first - in the sentence of the question. If the question is phrased differently, the answer is different.

Since youre new, I'll give you an honest answer.
I say egg. Some creature had a mutation, and popped out a chicken egg instead of its kind. thus the chicken.

Chickens evolved from reptiles so the first time was the egg from a reptile witch turned out to be a chicken.
So the first time was the reptiles egg.

I'd say the egg. There were species laying eggs long before the modern chicken evolved (i.e. dinosaur eggs, ancient birds, etc).
