I am especially looking to find some of those "unheard of" ones who never made it big but are awesome...movies like "Crash" which won best movie and yet didn't do well at all in the box office.

A Woman of Substance, it was a book by Barbara Taylor Bradford and became a movie in the early 80s. You can buy it on DVD on amazon. The book is phenomenal, the movie is great. About the struggles of a young woman (from the English countryside) who found her nitch and created a dynasty. Truly fantastic.

"Heaven and Earth" with Tommy Lee Jones. One great movie! It's a movie about a Vietnamese womans life. From Siagon until she comes to AMerica. Beautiful story about the dark rivers of a womans heart and her strength.

My all time favorite as of now is Hitch and 50 First Dates. I can watch it over and over again without getting bored at it. Foreign films... I remember liking Life is Beautiful and Amelie, but it doesn't evoke any emotion on me now. So that's about it.

Hands down, Charlie and Chocolate Factory... The one with Gene Wilder (he's crazy in that movie, and he did some crazy stuff before he taped).
