Mammals have lots of competing urges.

We're driven to monogamy by the search for a stable life, protection and a mate (and thus mating opportunities) on hand.

We're driven to polygamy (or cheating) by the desire to find opportunities to mate, the drive to mate with people with the best genes available, and by the indiscriminant nature of our sex drives.

As in most things, we have lots of competing urges, and occasionally those urges clash, forcing us to prioritise.

according to reserch we are not monogamous, i can not recall it but ive seen it on Discovery or BBC. what means that it is not in our nature to be with just one sexual partner, anyway if it was in our nature, man would only get errection after marriege and only when being with is wife, but it is not this way,
we feel sexual desire, and love to more than one person, what is natural, what means it is natural to have sex with more than one partner, the only problem with monogamous life is STDs and unwanted pregancies, if not this there would be no problem, so all we need to do is give kids proper sexual education, as we can all get laid safely.

oh other thing is we are mamals, and even though ive heard about birds (birds are not mamals) who become partners for long time , i have not heard about dogs, tigers etc for being faitfhul just to one partnerm and even delphins as the smartests of mamals (yes deplin is not a fish for these who didnt know ) do have sex with few partners and its been reserched that as we do just for pleasure.

We are although we have had sex with other people together: We absolutely love each other to bits and have been together quite a long time..............we don't cheat on each other sexually, emotionally or physically..............But if we can both get what we want together..........Then we'd still class ourselves as monogamous: Go figure!!!

I think men are genetically wired to be polygamous. They like to impregnate as many women as possible. Women go for genetic selection. Perhaps subconsciously they chose a person who would be a provider and have better genes to propagate the lineage

some of us really want to be--many of us can't be-- because a lot of us don't understand the power of sex and the reasons for sex--it is a creative force, not just for creating babies--when sex is properly understood many people may understand the need for monogamy---
some of us can be for a time --as long as we are alive we have sexual desires--it is about how we view sex, and how we view people--if we view them as objects if we view ourselves as objects, if we view ourselves as beings that have feelings, if we realize that every actions has a consequence--how we can control our desires--if we act on them or not
a lot of factors to consider

The Creator made all creatures, He also made them male and female(1 each)... then He made Adam and added Eve(1 each)... then multiplication started..and we took the law into our hands.... and started polygamy and bigamy...and all sorts of games in the name of "gamy". We were designed to be monogamous.

But after sin entered the world, man's natural nature became evil. But we still strive to do right.
