Well you figure you need about 300 extra calories a day — especially later in your pregnancy, and women typically gain 25 to 35 pounds (on average), so it's not abnormal that you've gained weight. Just watch what you eat and make sure you drink lots of water!

Yeah this is very normal I was 5'2 115 lbs when I had my first child when I had him I was 171 lbs nothing but baby. Now, I'm 7mths pregnant 22 years old and still 5'2 I weighed 149lbs just last week I went to the doctor now I'm 156lbs. In just seven days.
You may be having a boy boys make U plump or heavier. I'm having a gurl this time I still have my shape I just have a stomach. Sometimes u can be two week more pregnant than they say u are unless they have done a sono on u to measure ur pregnancy. Congrats on the new baby my blessing go out to u and ur family

Everyone is different, don't compare yourself with your pregnant friends or you may start getting worried for nothing. Do get prenatal care and always bring a list with all your questions to your nurse or doctor's visits. Ask them for advice on your diet to make sure you are getting the nutrition you and your baby need. My doctor said that it's normal at the end of your pregnancy to gain between 20-30 pounds (if you only have one baby inside!). Breastfeeding will help you lose the weight after your baby is born.

It's normal. I started showing BEFORE I even got a positive test!!! I am thin also...5'4 at 118lbs....and the belly just started poking out for everyone to see. It's all very normal. Some women start getting poochy at 6 weeks, while others don't get that way until 4-5 months! Congrats!

Most likely it's gas - believe it of not......it's very common this early....
Go get a book called " what to expect when you are expecting" by Heidi Murkoff. It's the pregnancy bible and will help with all these questions. Your question as well as many others that you would not expect is in there. It's excellent in describing all of these little things that worry moms and help distinguish when something is "normal" or not.
Good Luck!

Im 9 weeks pregnant right now on my 3rd pregnancy, and each time my waist band grew before i could see with my eyes. My doctor told me that it could be serveral things.
1. The extra amount of blood in your body
2. Bloating, gas, etc

congratulations! don't worry about your weight at this point. your body is moving your internal organs around and creating a nest for your baby to grow in over the next 32 weeks.
have you gone to the doctor yet? if not, please do, they will provide you with the proper information to have a healthy pregnancy.
a great book for you to get is called: what to expect when you are expecting.
it will tell you everything about your body, baby, nutrition, etc on a weekly and monthly basis for your entire pregnancy.
happy thoughts of love, peace and light to you, your baby and your family.

Sometimes its just gas and feces, if you are bloated and/or constipated. Though everyone starts to show at different times, its likely the bloating and gas with the combination of your expanding uterus. I've been that way since about 8 weeks.
