If you talk about which is best for music not not for compatibility, it is still MP3. But in some case it is not the best for low storage music player. Most MP3 players nowaday also supports WMA. If you want to make full use of the storage space, WMA should be your choice. MP3 however, give good CD quality encoding and that should not be underestimated if you are a serious music lover.

For low bitrates, WMA seems to be a better compression scheme than MP3. But the difference is not as huge as Microsoft would like us to believe. By listening to the sample, you will understand that recent MP3 encoders are quite better than two years ago. So all in all just stick with MP3's.

Mp3 any day man. WMA isn't thats flexible. Mp3 has the quality n the flexibility. If MP3 wasn't the best format......then no a.s.s h.o.l.e wouldn't have spent time to invent mp3 player n include mp3 technology in cd players as well. May b these days v do get WMA players..... but thats jus like an add on feature.

MP3 and WMA are generally equal in audio quality. Many people claim that MP3s are better, but you probably wouldn't notice a difference unless you're a serious audiophile.
WMAs tend to have smaller file sizes, but MP3s have greater compatibility with various (portable) audio players.
