ME!!!! I hate it especially if I'm in a hurry. I know these people are only doing their job but some just don't take no for an answer. I always just say sorry I don't have time but some of them can be soooo rude. Do they really think that they can convince you to buy something that you just don't want. I'm with you if I want something then I'm big enough and ugly enough to get it for myself. They are as bad as those bloody people on the phone selling double glazing and conservatories and mobile phones. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

I just ignore these type of people and act like I am in a hurry and cannot hear them. I absolutely cannot stand solicitors and I am a major mean person, because if a person or group of people are outside of a store bumming off of money from people in the parking lot, I inform someone and ask if they are allowed to do that. Usually, they are solicitors and they get into trouble. I cannot stand people like that and I agree with you.

I agree. Charities are the worst. Not because I am against charity, it is something I choose to do but not in the middle of the street being pressurised. Oh, and the people who are getting bank details so that you pay charities by direct debit are actually on commission - how sick is that?

Yes, I hate it too!
They have a crap job, thus the rudeness.
I like the idea of headphones....and don't make eye-contact with them if you cannot avoid walking near them.
This kind of cheap advertising is still used because employers know that it is harder for customers to refuse services when approached in person. It's a lot easier to turn them down on the phone.

Just say 'no thanks' and walk on.
They're just people doing a crap job to get by. It doesn't take much effort to brush them off in a reasonably polite manner.
I always feel a bit more awkward when it's a charity, but a polite 'sorry' is still a pretty easy way out.
I have to admit it though, they do still annoy me sometimes. Especially when you get pestered by 3 of them when walking down about a hundred metres of high street.

When you see people holding flyers and application forms and you know (or have a strong feeling) that they'll sell you something, don't walk near them if you can avoid them. That way they can't sell you stuff.

You have but to look them straight in the eye and utter the two famous words pertaining to sex and travel. - Some of them even have the cheek to sound appalled and say "Oh, I've NEVER heard such language!" to which you then reply "So how do you know what sort of language it is?"

I agree. It p**ses me off too.
I have taken to walking through town with earphones in my ears, not connected to anything, so I can ignore them.
Works for me.
