Nice is considered to be the capital of the French Riviera. It is a very nice city with a specific charm.
You will surely enjoy walking down the famous English Promenade, that ranges a few kilometres along the seaside in the center of the city. You will see many nice buildings, mostly hotels, alongside of it. You will also meet many people riding bicycles and jogging in the morning. They obviously have a very healthy lifestyle there...
You will also have a great pleasure walking down the narrow streets of the Old Town. There are many shops and cafes there, but also many monuments and churches. It is all very cute, but keep in mind that it is, alltogether with the sea front, the main turistic area, which means that prices are higher than elsewhere in the city.
Modern city center offers a lot, too. There are many monuments, imposing buildings and prestigious shops there. And there is an astonishing number of parks and gardens (approximately three hundreds of them) not only in the very center, but in the whole city, so keep enjoying!
Then there is a famous market. The most famous is The Flower Market, but the most alluring is probably The Fruit and Vegetable Market. Products there really look fabulous! But I have to worn you that they might not always be as tasty as you would suppose looking at them and even smelling them. Don't miss it anyway!
There are numerous museums in Nice. I suggest you to look at some guidebooks or guides online in order to choose some of them according to your specific interest. I also suggest you to do the same for churches and other monuments. But whatever you choose and even if you don't choose anything specific and you don't get any particular information, you will still enjoy this amazing place. Wherever you go, you will be able to enjoy marvulous architecture and wonderful atmosphere.
The only thing I didn't like in Nice was their beach. Exept some private beaches, where send is added, the beaches in the city only have rocks and stones, even pretty big ones, and not send at all. Well, nothing is perfect...
On the other hand, Cannes has very nice sendy beaches, but for me Nice is more beautiful city. Anyway, Cannes has also very nice buildings, mostly hotels, and is also a charming place.
Two more advices and I will (finally) finish: be sure to visit Monaco if you have enough time. Go and see Monaco Ville and Monte Carlo, they are both fascinating!
And, if you already don't know, learn a few words and phrases in French. It could be very usefull as it will not be a rare case to meet people speaking no word of english.
Bonnes voyages!

Hi !
In Nice : have a walk on the seashore on the Promenade des Anglais and do not miss the old town (Vieux Nice). Climb up the little hill behind the old town to get a view over the city and the bay.
In Cannes : Shopping is nice on rue d'Antibes and visit the Suquet area which is the oldest part of the city.

Plan to do lots of Nice, it's gorgeous. I also would recommend Monaco if you are going to be in the area long enough.
