Book, movies or play? I remember waiting each year for the Wizard of Oz to be shown on tv and seeing it only in black and white since we didn't have a color tv. I remember reading the books and being amazed that there is so much more to the story than what is seen in the movie. I remember seeing the play at the St. Louis Muny this summer. I'm happy to have the opportunity to own the DVD and watch it any time I wish.

Oh yeah!

Clicking the red shoes twice, "there's no place like home"

The emerald city, yellow brick road, wicked witch of the west, good witch glinda (did I get the name right?), toto the dog, the tornado, the scarecrow, the tinman, the lion, and of course the wizard which turned out to be just an old man. It was a nice entertaining fantasy movie, and I liked the music too.

Of course! The film is an absolute classic. I remember watching it for the first time and was amazed when Dorothy walked out of the house into Munchkin Land and the black and white turned into colour. I always wanted to have the lovely pink dress worn by Glinda, the good witch!

Yes, and if you ever get a chance to view the parts that went onto the editing room floor, you should. There's a hilarious dance scene where Dorothy first meets the Scarecrow that's awesome to watch, but they cut it out of the final version of the film. I'm not sure which network showed the "outtakes" or edited parts (perhaps TCM? The E! channel? Biography channel? I'm not sure), but I hope you get to see that some day. Do you know they almost cut out the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow?!" Glad they didn't!

I was a big Judy Garland fan, not after seeing Oz but after seeing "Meet Me In St-Louis". I have the Oz DVD at home. Very nice DVD with lots of features.

Yes it is a dry humor strip. I liked it in the newspapers that came along in India and continues to do so. Its got some logic, though now i have lost track and not have seen any.
