I have only lived in seven states, multiple cities in each state. But the best place I have ever lived is Seattle. It is so beautiful. Everything is green and blue (trees and water everywhere) short trip to the mountains or the ocean. Great surfing and hiking. Great business. Also, I am a chef so the restaurant culture is very important to me, but Seattle has it down! There are so many small independent restaurants here. They are nice with great food! But the best thing about Seattle is how friendly and laid back it is here. Everyone (ok almost everyone) is so nice and you can go to the opera in jeans or a gown. It just doesn't matter. Great micro brews, great coffee, great food, great people, beautiful city. Seattle has everything that a really big city offers but it's smaller and more friendly. Just as sophisticated though, but not in an obvious way. It's like we figured out you don't have to be a stuck up as s hole to have nice things and be cultured, you can be a millionaire and very cultured but do it in jeans and a hoodie. Hope this helps!

Rhode Island. You're surrounded by beautiful beaches, there's plenty to do and you're just a short car ride from a ton of major cities, like Boston, Providence, Newport, the casinos in New Hampshire and Connecticut.

Tennessee has some of the best quality of living as far as cost of living and jobs available. It has great entertainment too. I like Nashville, Knoxville and Chattanooga. Try to stay as far away as possible from Memphis.

I have lived in Texas, Tennessee, Illinois, Arizona
My faves are Arizona 1st Texas 2nd. I guess a lot depends on what your personal preferences are. As far as seasons, raising a family etc.... It all has a factor in where you live.

Hand's down California...(so. Cal in particular). I moved now to Florida and I'm dying to go back... but that's just my opinion... I mean you can be at the beach one day, hiking the next hour and snowboarding the next... God I miss it!

I don't know, but I LEFT California because it is too expensive!
(I know, people still like it, but it's nearly impossible to buy a house.)
I live in Nevada - near Reno - and LOVE it.
