Don't talk about me that way! I'm 43 (which isn't THAT old) and I seem to get cold quicker than the rest of the world. I am thin and fat is an insolator. People without a lot of body fat tend to get cold sooner than others. Most of the older people you referred to are probably thin. My Dad is 71 (and slightly overweight - maybe 10 pounds). He never seems to be cold.

Most of them have decreased muscle mass and body fat. It is impossible to regulate body heat without those two things. Also, poor circulation in the extremities furth er makes it seem cold.

as we age, nothing works quite as well as it did in our youth, including the circulatory system. time and gravity take their toll. blood just doesn't circulate around the body as well as it should, and thus body temperature isn't regulated as finely. arteries get clogged.
