You have no basis to call him dumb. On what grounds is your statement founded?
Usually people who go to Harvard aren't dumb, chances are he's smarter than you. Lets see how you run a country through a time of crisis. Something tells me the word dumb wouldnt begin to describe the total quagmire you would create if you were placed with a fraction of the responsibility you has.
Also, compared to his father, you could say that George W. is an equally good, if not better president. The overwhelming difference between them is that George W. Bush has stuck to his word, whereas George HW Bush, did not stick to his word, hence why he lost an election he should have had no problem winning.

"You can fool some of the people all of the time, and those are the ones you have to focus on" – GW Bush
"You have to look at the entire Bush Family in this context -- as if the family ran a corporation called ‘Frauds-R-Us,’
George Jr.’s specialty was insurance and security fraud.
Jeb’s specialty was oil and gas fraud.
Neil’s specialty was real estate fraud.
Prescott’s specialty was banking fraud.
And George Sr.’s specialty? All of the above." -- Lt. Cmdr. Al Martin, US Navy,(Ret)"While opportunism isn’t new in U.S. politics, never did so many in one family extract so many dollars from taxpayers as when George Bush senior was president a decade ago" -- David E. Scheim, author of Contract on America.
"What you’ve got with Bush [George senior] is absolutely the largest number of siblings and children involved in what looks like a never-ending hustle." -- Republican pundit Kevin Philips. I believe it is because Bush's grand parents gave so much money to Harvard and Yale that when it came to allowing Bush to graduate they said, "We gotta kick up his grades and let him slide through with a C average, its' not like he's ever going to be president or anything"

I wonder what percentage of people asking this question actually supported Bush senior in 1988 and/or 1992.

The coke he used in college warped his brain. I think that Bush Sr. told the RNC that he thought that his son could be a good president. The only thing is, he was meaning Jeb...they just thought he was talking about George W. Jeb is much smarter.

I agree, I felt the H.W. was a good president, a strong coalition builder, and a very good statesman. "W" must be more like mom.
