cnn.com gives you access to a large part of their TV program via the Internet free of charge. A few other channels are (slowly) following suit.

I think most of the big news' networks are online. Try:

www.nbc.com
www.msnbc.com
etc.

As for regular TV programming and movies - keep dreaming.
